Layer 7, a provider of XML gateways for SOA and Cloud, said that it has joined F5 Networks’ Technology Alliance Program, to provide enhanced service provider-grade SOA delivery assurance for global enterprises.
By optimising its XML Gateway to leverage the security and high-availability features of F5 BIG-IP offerings, Layer 7 provides optimum uptime for globally distributed web services.
In addition, Layer 7 and F5 technologies also improve automated service provisioning capabilities, enabling organisations to move toward implementing dynamic infrastructures.
Phil Walston, vice president of product management for Layer 7, said: “The combination of Layer 7 and F5 technologies gives application service providers several industry-first delivery capabilities to meet their SOA assurance needs.
“These capabilities include enhanced denial of service and rate limiting functionality, XML affinity, session persistence and centralised SSL offload, as well as seamless service registration. Service providers will be able to deliver value-added applications with solid, enforceable Service Level Agreements from the transport layer all the way up to the API.”
