Aldus Corp is considering scaled-down versions of its Pagemaker desk-top publishing program, founder and president Paul Brainerd told Macintosh Horizons. There are people who want desktop publishing products, but don’t necessarily need all of the features that PageMaker 3.0 has, he said, adding that the Seattle, washington company was looking at offering different versions of PageMaker or new products for different segments of the market. Of the 43 software development engineers at Aldus, about 15 are working on PageMaker, the others are developing 1988 and 1989 products. Adding that Aldus will continue to acquire products too, Brainerd commented Our engineers can only develop so many products.
