RF Ideas has launched three new card readers with compact form factors to its portfolio of secure card readers. The new card readers include: pcSwipe magnetic stripe, pcProx PCMCIA and USB thumb-drive.

RF Ideas said that the new pcSwipe magnetic stripe card reader is suitable for customers who want to leverage their existing base of magnetic stripe card-carrying personnel.

The company said that the pcSwipe reader is compatible with the many magnetic stripe cards circulated worldwide and has been designed to meet the identification and security needs of customers in many different environments and industries.

Richard Landuyt, CEO of RF Ideas, said: “We have incorporated the same quality features of our existing card readers into these smaller formats. The advantage to the end-user for the PCMCIA and USB card readers is portability for a variety of card reading needs. We are providing more power to the cards and badges that employees use every day.”

Dan Miller, RFID program manager of BlueStar, said: “With the addition of these new card readers to its portfolio, RF IDeas provides our customers with additional cost-effective options for integrating secure applications to these innovative card reader form factors.”
