Wang Laboratories is almost ready with a microprocessor implementation of its VS processor, and the first machines to use it will be out this financial year, president Fred Wang said in London yesterday. He also said that the company was working on a dyadic model in the new VS 7000 series. A proprietary Wang workstation is planned for next year. On the personal computer front, the the lap-top and PC 283 announced last year was followed in the US last month by launch of the low-end Professional Computer 240, which can be used as a terminal to VS machines and as a stand alone AT-alike.
