Acorn Computers Ltd of Cambridge is continuing the sales promotion on its Pocket Book handheld machine; the unit, which is a rebadged version of Psion Plc’s Series 3 will sell for UKP200 until the end of the year instead of the normal retail price of UKP250; the schedule application will continue at the special introductory price of UKP20 compared with the UKP50 normal price tag, until year end; this adds a diary, personal organiser and timetable to the machine’s in-built integrated package; finally, an 11-machine class pack with link to an Archimedes and a mains adaptor, is UKP2,000; why are they extending the offer? Perhaps sales of 4,000 since launch in August 1992 (CI No 1,996) kindled Psion’s generosity.
