London-based Parsys Ltd, one of the Esprit GP-MIMD supercomputing project participants, says its recently-formed Spanish subsidiary has been appointed distributor of Transtech Parallel Systems Ltd’s motherboard and TRAM Transputer module cards for personal computers and Sun workstations; Parsys has also announced the availability of Exabyte Corp 5Gb tape drives for its SN1000 range of high-performance computers; the drive comes as an option on all new Parsys machines or as an upgrade for existing machines; it is a SCSI 2 device with on-board error correction and recovery facility, and sustained data transfer rates of 500,000Kbps; the Exabyte tape drive is #3,275 plus tax from Parsys; users wishing to swap existing 2.5Gb systems for the new offering can get it for #2,575.
