The certification is increasingly becoming a requirement for companies wanting to bid on public sector contracts, and NEC Corp has begun provision of a services programme that supports companies attempting to gain the ISO 9000 quality assurance certification. To be provided in conjunction with Mitsui Bussan and consultant Sanwa Research Institute, the service provides consulting in employee training and other improvements. Consulting will be provided from a team within NEC subsidiary NEC Factory Engineering. The service, including bundled hardware (PC 9800 and EWS 4800) and software to use the incorporated programmes, is priced at from $66,667.
