Peak 10, a managed services company, has acquired 1Vault Networks, a South Florida-based business continuity and data services provider.

As part of the acquisition, Peak 10 said that it will make investments for data centre infrastructure enhancements, the managed services portfolio expansions and add technical expertise to the team; 1Vault will operate from now as Peak 10 South Florida.

The company expects the acquisition of the 66,000 square foot facility expands its footprint in Florida, allowing more organisations to receive expanded, geographically-redundant services such as virtualisation, disaster recovery and private cloud infrastructure.

The company owns and operates data centres in ten markets that include Cincinnati, Atlanta, Raleigh and Charlotte, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Louisville and Richmond.

Jim Thomas, former CEO of 1Vault, who will now serve as the vice president and general manager of Peak 10 South Florida, said: “The acquisition of 1Vault by Peak 10 creates significant value for our employees and customers, including customers of Bocacom – a dedicated server brand owned by 1Vault. It provides us with additional resources and expertise as well as the enhancement and expansion of our disaster recovery business model through Peak 10’s geographic footprint.

“Customers are going to see immediate value and opportunities to grow their IT operations especially in the areas of managed services, business continuity and disaster preparedness with Peak 10’s 16 other data centres and private network.”
