The TV rental and computer maintenance business Granada Group Plc of London W, has had a steady first half with growth in each of its four divisions. Rental & Retail remains the Group’s core business despite being its slowest grower, with Granada Television and the Granada Service Station chain accounting for most of the rest of Granada’s profits. The business services or computer maintenance division is one of the smallest sections contributing UKP8.3m in profits, but in terms of profits it is the fastest growing division. Following the acquisition of DPCE in June last year, Granada Computer Services International now dominates the third party computer maintenance market in Europe, and now claims a healthy 20% share of the market.
