Ameritech Inc and Bell Atlantic Corp, together with their New Zealand partners, Fay Richwhite Holdings Ltd and Freightways Holdings Ltd have officially taken ownership of Telecom Corp of New Zealand Ltd: the US firms will reduce their holdings to 49.9% by offering up to 40.1% of Telecom shares in public offerings on the New Zealand Stock Exchange and international equity markets over the next three years.
