Enterprise Information Systems, formerly the in-house information technology division of Welsh Water and spun out as an independent company soon after privatisation (CI No 1,471), has signed a reciprocal agreement with Oracle UK. The two companies are looking to generate sales in the utility and industrial sectors, and Oracle will market Enteprise’s applications into large-scale public and private sector operations. Some of the applications are specific to the water industry, but Enterprise says that the Energy Management Information System, Planning and Archive Data System, and the Asset Management System are equally appropriate to other industries. Enterprise claims to have focused Unix and open systems environments, and like Oracle, its applications are portable across a variety of operating systems.
