MDB Systems Ltd, also of Basingstoke, and the UK arm of MDB Systems Inc, Orange, California, introduced the MDB/MLSI-DW11 bus transverter, which enables Unibus/VAX controllers and peripherals to operate with Q-Bus or MicroVAX II machines and visa versa. The transverter module, costing UKP900, plugs into the Q-Bus chassis and is cable connected to the Unibus backplane. Also new from MDB is the Data Shuttle 1000, a shock proof, single disk subsystem add-on for any computer. Priced at UKP771, it can contain any 5.25 disk, up to 760Mb and has a SCSI interface – an EDSI version is to follow.
