Boole & Babbage Inc, Sunnyvale, California has a letter of intent to acquire Avant-Garde Computing Inc paying cash for most assets and assuming some liabilities. Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based Avant-Garde, which did $12m sales in the year to April, is described as a world leader in network management. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
