Computer Consoles Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts, yesterday announced that it is now offering its mature and well-regarded OfficePower integrated office automation software as an OEM product to other vendors of Unix-based systems. The software is already marketed by ICL on its Clan Unix line, which is topped off with models from Computer Consoles. The company says that it is already in negotiation with a number of prominent system vendors who regard OfficePower as the industry standard in Unix based office automation. OfficePower includes electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, diary and user-defined applications. End user licences begin at $995, and a typical 32 user system licence is under $10,000. OEM discounts go from 50% to 70% according to volume. Computer Consoles claims a user base of over 37,000 positions.
