Here in the UK, IBM has announced a wider range of 4684 user programmable Point-of-Sale terminals within its enhanced 4680 store system family (CI No 1,105). In addition to Models 111 and 131 announced in the US, IBM UK plans to introduce Models 110 and 130. These models are intended for stand-alone operations in either single- or two-register outlets, and come with a 1.44Mb 3.5 floppy. Model 130 also has a 30Mb fixed disk. List prices for Models 110, 111, 130 and 131 are UKP1,739, UKP1,808, UKP2,122, and UKP2,191 respectively; all models should be available in April. Other UK prices released for the 4680 range of products are UKP341 for the Store Sales Application; UKP122 for Version 2.0 of the Retail Industry Programming Support Services, RIPPS; UKP211 for the Store Runtime Support System; and UKP12,158 for the Store Application Toolkit. With the exception of the Store Runtime Support System, which brings up the rear in June, all the items are out April.
