It has been known for several months that the Attache lap-top computers announced by Bull SA of France last autumn were from the same Japanese manufacturer as supplies the Datavue subsidiary of Intelligent Systems Corp in Norcross, Georgia, and the designer, Sotec Corp, which calls the machine the Snap, has now confirmed it: the machine uses the NEC V20 rather than an 8088, and Bull has signed to take 10,000 of the things, worth $15.8m, a year; it chose the Snap after playing off 10 Japanese OEM suppliers against each other.
