Fujitsu Ltd has developed what it claims is the world’s thinnest keyboard, the Membrane Keyboard with a full stroke of just 3mm: the FKB 7300 series keyboard is expected to be used in notebook-type PCs, word processors and personal comptuers and uses a proprietary switch construction to provide a high-ergonomic board, and the whole assembly, including a support panel of aluminium, weighs only 7 oz; samples cost $77 and Fujitsu hopes to sell 50,000 a month for the rest of this fiscal, rising to 100,000 a month for the financial year that starts on April 1 1991.
