AS IBM ENHANCES SYSTEM 36 MODEL 5363 COMMUNICATIONS

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM hasn’t forgotten System 36 users – at least not ones with 5363 CPUs – and has come up with communication enhancements to give them three bi-sync or three SDLC lines running concurrently, or two of either and one of the other, or an X25 or V35 high speed SDLC line that will run concurrently with one bi-sync or SDLC line, the latter configuration able to support a concurrent local net as well. No charge, and it’s already in 5363s made after December 15 last; others must ask for the microcode.
