Avaya has released a new version of Avaya IP Office for SMEs that features unified communications (UC) capabilities to deliver enhanced user experiences to employees in any location.
The Avaya IP Office 6.0 includes collaboration tools using voice, instant messaging, presence and video to drive productive and flexible workforce. The new release makes unified communications up to 40% more affordable for small businesses, the company claims.
Avaya said that the new release addresses SME challenges with advancements to its user-based SME offerings designed for teleworkers, mobile workers and office workers, including enhancements to its desktop communications tool one-X Portal for IP Office, which enables users to manage communications from a business office, home office or on the road through a web browser-based interface.
According to Avaya, the new release adds instant messaging with embedded voice calling and presence to boost both the speed and responsiveness of inter-office communications among co-workers. It comes with enhanced audio conferencing feature that provides the ability to view, add, drop and mute attendees and record conference calls.
In addition, Avaya IP Office 6.0 also introduces video collaboration through a new IP Office Video Softphone application that offers voice control features through a virtual phone on a PC or laptop. Other enhancements to the new release include doubling support capacity in a multi-site network and to keep essential communications running during an outage.
Anthony Bartolo, general manager of small and medium enterprise communications at Avaya, said: With Avaya IP Office 6.0 in place, small businesses don’t have to sacrifice easy, intuitive operation in order to get the enhanced communications features of large enterprises.
“Our latest version provides SMEs with all of the next generation collaboration tools necessary for competing more effectively today against peers and larger competitors-and for thriving as the economy recovers.
