Mandriva has named Arnaud Laprevote as the new chief executive officer who will succeed Stanislas Bois. He will also hold the position of chief technical officer and director of research and development.

Mr Laprevote will surround himself with Herve Yahi, chief stategic officer and Stanislas Bois, chief financial officer at Mandriva.

From 1990 to 1996, Mr Laprevote worked at the Institut of Data Processing of the Technical University of Darmstadt, at the TeleDiffusion of France Research Center as head of digital electronics laboratory. He, then, worked at Thomson Multimedia R&D France as the leader of the Advanced Television and Multimedia Group. He holds various patents related to digital electronics and video processing.

In 1996, Mr Laprevote created Free&ALter Soft, which became Linbox FAS in 2001 when it acquired the assets of the Linbox startup. Linbox FAS was bought by Mandriva in 2007. Mr Laprevote joined Mandriva in 2007, when Linbox was acquired by Mandriva and he was dedicated to the management of Mandriva group’s research and development projects.
