SA Atlantic Belgium NV was announced yesterday at a press conference held in Brussels by Atlantic Computers Plc. The new Brussels-based subsidiary has been formed around Advanced Computer Engineering, acquired through Atlantic’s purchase of Dutch IBM leasing company ICA back in November 1986. Advanced Computer has increased its workforce from three to 10 people over the past 12 months and has followed its parent into the mainframe leasing business. It can boast the Belgian National Bank, Procter & Gamble and 3M amongst its clients. Atlantic plans to introduce its Flexlease product to the new company enabling customers to upgrade products to ones of equal or greater value at given points within a leasing contract, without incurring any financial penalty. Atlantic Belgium is currently in talks with various people with a view to increasing its market share in the leasing sector.
