Advanced System Architecture, acquired for UKP2m by RJO Enterprises Inc in July last year (CI No 1,225), has bought the systems studies business of Alton, Hampshire-based Imvec Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Advanced System Architecture is best known for the AUTO-G data modelling product, used in development work on the Strategic Defence Initiative in the US. Imvec’s involvement in data systems architectures and communications for military use naturally dovetail with those of RJO Enterprises and Advanced System, both of which have strong connections with the military. Advanced System says that the acquisition strengthens its hand in vehicle data system architecture, the Advanced Avionics Architecture and Packaging project, and a multi-processor test rig that is currently being developed for the UK Ministry of Defence.
