The London-based Computer Sciences Company Ltd subsidiary of the El Segundo, California computer services giant has now formally signed a UKP3m project, staff and consultancy contract with EftPos UK Ltd, the company set up within the framework of the Association for Payment Clearing Services. The contract calls for the company to develop, implement and manage the proposed UK national electronic funds transfer at point-of-sale system for retailers to debit customers’ bank accounts direct. Computer Sciences is providing a similar service to the one it supplied for the London International Stock Exchange during project development for Big Bang in 1986.
