Nematron Corp, the Ann Arbor, Michigan process control software developer that is adding real time extensions to Windows NT (CI No 3,002), has definitive agreement to acquire Walpole, Massachusetts process control software Intec Controls Corp in a share exchange, details of which were not disclosed. Annual revenue of the two is currently running at over $25m, with more than 25% coming from applications software products. Intec Controls will be merged with Nematron’s NemaSoft Inc subsidiary, and its products will be integrated into the current NemaSoft line of open architecture control and automation software products. Products to be merged include the Paragon family of high-performance regulatory control applications and client- server products for process industries including biotechnology, chemical, food and beverage, energy and building management, pharmaceutical and textiles. NemaSoft will continue to operate the Intec unit out of its Walpole headquarters and will retain its 40 employees. It will be looking to Intec’s software developers to help it with applications for Windows, NT and Internet and corporate intranet browser access.
