Shares in British Telecommunications Plc climbed sevenpence to 412.5 pence, their highest level since September 1995 after it said it would cut cost of international calls again, effective February 19. The latest round of reductions will cover calls to 33 countries, accounting for 60% of international calls, and the reductions include 20% off all calls to the United States, Canada and Mexico, 20% off daytime calls to Germany and France, with 10% reductions to evening, night time and weekend prices. It will also cut 10% off all calls to Australia and New Zealand and up to 20% off calls to Nigeria and 10% off calls to India.
