Dancall A/S, the Danish cellular phone-making unit of Amstrad Plc is seen getting back into the black in the current financial year, group chairman Alan Sugar said, denying that the company was up for sale and saying that it would for the time being remain a 100% subsidiary of Amstrad. It lost around 6m pounds in 1995-96 and has recently aroused speculation about possible takeover by one of two rival Japanese firms. Sugar also said Dancall is due to sign manufacturing contracts with at least three global mobile phone service firms in the next few days. It is planning to hike its plant capacity to 90,000 units per month from 50,000 in the next nine to 12 months, at a cost of around $10m.
