Intergraph Computer Systems has a new 3D graphics and multimedia add-in board to give users a three dimensional gaming experience. The new Intense 3D Voodoo board accelerates two-and three- dimensional graphics to deliver sharper images. The card is based on the Voodoo Rush chip technology called Intense 3D Voodoo from 3Dfx Interactive and will be distributed through Electronic Arts. The board also boosts performance of general PC applications like word processing or home finance, making it suitable for home users and small office users, the Huntsville, Alabama-based company said. Priced at $230 and out in September, Intense 3D Voodoo offers video enhancements including DVD support and NTSC video output. Other features include two 64-bit 3D rendering engines, 128-bit 2D multimedia processor, 6Mb EDO DRAM , bi- linear and trilinear texture filtering, 24-bit Alpha blending and 8-bit transparency, VESA DIN-3 stereoscopic port, and PCI 2.1/VESA 2.0 compliance. Intense 3D Voodoo supports Glide 2.4, Direct3D, ActiveX, GameGL and DOS.
