Advanced Technology Materials Inc of Danbury, Connecticut has finalised the details of its merger with Lawrence Semiconductor Laboratories, but the deal will not be signed until late 1997. ATMI will issue stock valued at around $78m for the privately owned Lawrence, which specializes in the manufacture of epitaxial or epi thin silicon films using chemical vapor deposition.
