Corel Corp managed to draw a lot of attention to a few minor glitches in its press release announcing the formation of a new unit yesterday – a few words were duplicated and the number of employees moving over was wrong, but it could have been explained with a simple re-issue. What it didn’t need was an explanatory note telling the world that the errors were due to a problem we have been having saving current version s of our file in our word processor. Which one was that we wonder, the regular WordPerfect, the Java version, or another vendor’s offering? By the way, did we mention that there was also a paragraph duplicated in the ‘corrected version’? All in all, not a good day’s PR.
