Sybase 365 and Telecom New Zealand International (TNZI) have entered into a partnership to launch joint IPX voice service offering.

Reportedly, the companies are working together to offer voice service based on managed IP interconnects using Sybase 365’s MPLS-based GRX community, combined with TNZI’s next-generation softswitch technology, which already enables voice over internet protocol (VoIP) interconnections in Asia Pacific, North America, Europe and Africa.

Sybase 365’s IPX service is poised to deliver services including global data roaming, MMS, roaming signaling, SMS, IMS services in addition to voice services, partnering with TNZI.

IPX is an alternative to setting up bilateral connections with individual mobile operators. Using an IPX, operators can access interconnect services on a competitive basis, with common technical specifications, the company claims.

Matthew Tonkin, senior director of Asia pacific sales at Sybase 365, said: “By combining our resources and expertise we can add real value developing and delivering an IPX voice service of guaranteed high quality which is also secure, scalable, and cost effective. We can offer a one-stop-shop that will enable our customers to maximise their operational efficiencies and cost savings as well as provide a higher quality of service to their subscribers.”
