Now Bruce Sachs, executive vice president and general manager of BayUs Networks Internet/Telecom Business Group has left the company to join Stratus Computer as its president and chief executive officer. Sachs had joined Bay when it acquired Xylogics Inc. in December 1995. Before that he had been president and chief executive officer at Xylogics, and made no secret of his aim to be a chief executive once more. Mick Scully, vice president, strategic planning and business development, immediately will assume the role of acting general manager until a successor is found. Meanwhile, Bay has announced that Dr. Daniel Pitt is to be vice president and director of the newly formed Bay Architecture Lab.
