German-based Comparex Informationssysteme GmbH has updated its series of Tetragon 2000 Raid storage products in an attempt to improve user performance. The company, which has offices throughout Europe, has introduced a new 9.2 gigabyte disk aimed primarily at large system customers. It is designed to boost performance and speed, and with the correct configuration has the potential to cut power consumption by up to 50%, said Comparex. Capacity has been increased by up to 1.634 terabytes from 726 gigabytes. The company believes that synchronous remote Copy and on-line data migration utilities extend data availability, security and fast data recovery. Multi-system connectivity, backup and restore, optimum system configuration, and data exchange functions are all new.
