After a good year in 1995, Chertsey, UK-based broadcast and defense electronics firm Radamec Group Plc has gone one better in 1996. Pre-tax profits for the year to December 31 were up 28.3% to 1.7m pounds, revenue climbed 32.4% to 16.5m pounds. The company has released only the bare minimum of figures, but insists that each of its four divisions traded profitably during the year. New products finding favor in 1996 included Virtual Scenario, a virtual reality television studio system, and Marathon, an improved version of the hard disk digital video recorder. Radamec’s traditional markets of marine and defense electronics systems remained strong. The Board has recommended a final dividend of 2.0 pence bringing the total for the year to 3.0 pence, up 24% from last year. This must be a sure sign that the board has confidence in its ability to sustain growth. The market clearly enjoyed the prospect of healthy dividends in the future and shares were up seven pence to 107.5 pence by midday.
