Despite the fact that the iAPX-86-based – 80486 or Pentium – Integrated PC Server board for the AS/400 is perfectly capable of running Windows NT or OS/2 as well as the NetWare it was originally offered with, IBM Corp does not intend to start supporting it until the next release of the board, which will use a Pentium Pro processor and won’t arrive until early next year. The Integrated PC Server gets its own space on the AS/400’s disk drives and can also use the tape drive and access the CD-ROM drive.
