CMG Information Services Inc’s Planet Direct Internet service provider subsidiary, which has been offering a personalized Web- based online service for the last three months to 30,000 subscribers, has rallied together a federation of 70 Internet service providers to co-brand the service to more than 750,000 subscribers. The free service, backed by advertisers such as American Express and Black and Decker, is designed to compete with traditional online service providers such as America Online Inc.
