Alcatel Data Networks, a division of Alcatel SA has added ATM functionality to its carrier grade switches, adding a switch capable of ATM throughput of 160Mbps, which supports all classes of ATM traffic. The Alcatel HSS 1100 HSS series 1000 is compatible with switched virtual circuits using E.164 or NSAP addressing. The system is also compatible with the Alcatel 1100 Series 700 Multiservice switch, which offers both ATM as well as Frame Relay switching, and which also shares a proprietary Network Management System.
