Internet tools start-up NetDynamics Inc, Palo Alto, California, is shipping version 3.0 of its eponymous Web application development tool, and is forging a path into Europe. The key feature of version 3.0 is its scalability, says NetDynamics; developers can split one copy of an application to run across several Windows NT or Unix boxes, which helps defray the impact of thousands of people hitting on a Web site. Another feature is weaving multiple users together on to one database connection. It includes WebExtend – software that enables developers to stick a browser onto a PeopleSoft application. In the labs at the moment is WebExtend for SAP AG’s R/3 and IBM Corp’s CICS transaction processor. Co-founder, Zack Rinat, is preaching to resellers that have applications written in older fat client tools like Powersoft’s PowerBuilder. A single developer license costs $1,300.
