Alcatel-Lucent has launched a new IP Transformation Centre (IPTC) in Chennai, India, which will develop, integrate and test IP networking products for its customers as they migrate to next generation architectures.

According to Alcatel-Lucent, the new centre which hosts about 50 technologies, helps service providers to shorten the IP transformation trajectory and their time to market while also allowing them to keep costs under control and focus on serving their customers.

The new IPTC is connected with Alcatel-Lucent’s existing IPTCs and network integration centres located in Antwerp, Belgium; Singapore; Murray Hill, Naperville and Plano in the USA, as well as with multiple R&D labs world-wide, including India. These centres, which share knowledge, resources and best practices, help service providers to execute their IP Transformation projects, the company said.

Vivek Mohan, managing director of Alcatel-Lucent India, said: To survive in a hyper-competitive environment, service providers need to rapidly introduce new services, reduce operational costs, and enhance the customer experience.

“Alcatel-Lucent’s IPTC will help service providers achieve these goals and shorten their IP transformation process while mitigating potential risks in areas such as network design, end-to-end integration, process reengineering and customer migration. This new facility will firmly establish Alcatel-Lucent in India as the leading network integrator locally and globally.
