Unison World and Broderbund Software have settled the software copyright infringement suit brought in 1985 by Broderbund and Pixellite Software against Unison that alleged that Unison’s PrintMaster graphics program infringed the copyright of their The Print Shop program: the court ruled in October 1986 that the look and feel of the user interface of Unison’s program was an infringement, Unison World appealed, but under terms of the settlement, Unison World consents to a permanent injunction, a payment to the plaintiffs, and modification of PrintMaster, with all claims dropped on both sides; Unison World introduced an enhanced version of the package in December with Broderbund’s approval; called PrintMaster Plus it is used to create customised signs, banners, stationery, calendars, and greeting cards using detailed graphics and lettering.
