IBM – YOU’RE NICE AND WARM!

We’ve always assumed that rather more than mere coding and loading went on during the night shifts in our major computer installations, and now we hear confirmation from one of the girls who works at the London installation of a major US oil company that had better remain nameless: turns out the computer suite is so damn well air-conditioned that the place is like an ice-well, and so the operators take turns to curl up and grab some sleep in the only warm spot in the suite – forgive the indignity, Big Mother, but it’s right on top of the big IBM mainframe cabinet.
