SpringSource, a division of VMware, has unveiled Spring 3.0, a new version of its Java development framework. The new version enables developers and organisations to build web and service-based applications on an open application platform.
The company claimed that the new version removes the complexity from enterprise Java without compromising developer programming power and the developers can gain further efficiencies when using its Eclipse-based Tool Suite.
According to SpringSource, the new version of the platform features simpler development of rich web applications with full Rest support and streamlined configuration of Spring beans and a new expression language. In addition, the upgrade process is easy as Spring 3.0 is backwards compatible with Spring 2.5.
Rod Johnson, general manager of the SpringSource division of VMware, said: “Spring 3.0 makes it even easier for developers to build flexible, high-quality applications while providing a foundation for innovation in other open source projects and commercial products.
“Spring 3.0 together with SpringSource’s runtime environments, including SpringSource tc Server, provides the most productive and highest performing development platform for enterprise Java.”
