Nixdorf Computer AG yesterday announced 1986 turnover up 15% at Dm4,510m, about $2,300m, and said it would have been higher but for the rise in the Deutschmark against almost all other currencies. The company, which will report profits for 1986 in April, says sales in Germany were up 21% but foreign sales, expressed in marks, rose only 9%, so that Germany accounted for 52% of turnover. Nixdorf expects profit growth to come out ahead of turnover growth. It says that orders at the end of the year were up 13% at Dm4.430m, and employment at the Paderborn company was up by another 2,300 people at 25,600. It invested Dm600m on research and development in 1986; capital expenditure was Dm420m.
