As the creation of irrepressible self-publicist Adam Osborne, most people will have been aware of Paperback Software almost from its foundation, but without the lawsuit from Lotus Development Corp, Mosaic Software would likely have remained as little known as Interface Technologies… Interface who? The Houston firm has a $99 1-2-3 clone called Farsight, and is still waiting for an angry phonecall – indeed, reports Microbytes Daily, Interface is so miffed at all the free publicity garnered by Mosaic and Paperback from those Lotus suits that it is thinking of suing Lotus itself for failing to honour it with a look-and-feel lawsuit.
