CA has launched remote deployment services for its endpoint and gateway internet security product Total Defense and its individual components, Threat Manager, Host Based Intrusion Prevention System and Gateway Security.
The company said that the installation of these products, as well as the removal of competitive products, is performed remotely via a broadband connection, in a move to provide a cost-effective gateway and endpoint security system. The new offering is designed for SMBs with zero to limited IT staff or for enterprise customers who want to alleviate the drain placed on their IT resources.
According to CA, a remote deployment services team is assigned to each project to manage the installation to help ensure that the job is completed on time. The installation helps to assure product performance within SMB or enterprise environments by preventing malware before it gets to the network, and also reduces the risk of potential downtime.
Thomas Neary, director of product management of CA, said: Malware and spam continue to grow exponentially and plague businesses of all sizes. While businesses understand that it is critical to have a comprehensive, multi-pronged approach to security, some may not have the skilled resources to dedicate to the project or can get bogged down by the installation complexities.
“Our remote deployment services provide our customers with a simplified, fast and assured installation of our multi-layered Total Defense security solution.
