Magellan has unveiled the new Maestro 4700 GPS device with 4.7-inch colour touch screen. In addition to Magellan’s OneTouch user interface, the new device reportedly performs advanced navigation tasks with built-in voice command capabilities and hands-free Bluetooth calling.

According to Magellan, the new Maestro 4700 features OneTouch Favorites Menu which enables users to access ‘favourite’ destinations and search with personalised bookmarks, and Predictive Traffic to help analyse the past traffic patterns and avoid known delays.

The new GPS device will allow users to make or receive calls using a compatible cell phone. Its noise-cancelling microphone keeps road noise down so that the user can hear clearly. It comes with large fonts and has an address book to add a snap with the address summary to save the itineraries.

Other features include – access to all points of interest, remember the location of your car, displaying visual cues to help drivers perform manoeuvres and find destinations, intuitive, context-driven touch zones with interactive map screen and QuickSpell with Smart City Search for single-address entry or multi-destination trip planning, including route optimisation.

Mike Wagner, senior director of product marketing for Magellan, said: We have incorporated voice command, Bluetooth, and highway lane assist to help you reach your destination with confidence. The large 4.7-inch screen is easily viewable in all lighting conditions.
