Rand Worldwide said that its Professional Services division released an enhanced version 2.4 of Advanced Data Migration Import Tool (ADMIT).
Rand said that the ADMIT v2.4 utility allows users to address the scope of data migration and is developed for the users utilising Dassault Systemes’ ENOVIA SmarTeam software. ADMIT v2.4 supports the development of a data migration plan, including documentation, definition, testing, and measurement of the results.
The technology is expected to reduce migration time and effort, while improving accuracy through automating and recording the results/progress.
According to Rand, the new enhancements of the ADMIT v2.4 utility include: ability to update primary key attributes using virtual fields; saves screen visual settings; updates objects searching on non-primary key fields; can generate file names from both object attribute values and data input fields; and enhanced error reporting.
Other enhancements include: can generate mappings report and statistics report to MS Excel, MS Word or text files; enhanced handling of mapping the file type field if several overlapping methods are used in a job; and added ability for future data import jobs operating on a TDM_ID value generated by an earlier job.
Amy Mueller, MIS engineer at Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, said: “You really need to have experienced the difficulties of using the traditional import tools to truly appreciate the value of RAND Worldwide’s ADMIT utility. It ensured our data migration was a fast, easy, accurate, and most importantly a traceable import of our flat file legacy data.”
