UK computer manufacturer Bleasdale Computer Systems Plc, of Lutterworth, Leicestershire – most recently in the news when Optim Computer Group took a 10% stake in the company in March, has launched a new 68030-based system running Unix System V.3. The Sentinal 030 uses a 20MHz 68030 with the 68882 floating point co-processor, the combination rated by Bleasdale at 7 MIPS, and supports up to 32 users. Main memory is expandable from 8Mb to 24Mb. The system is intended for networked applications and supports Ethernet driven by TCP/IP. X25 packet switching is also supported, and Bleasdale is offering a mighty 760Mb 5.25 Winchester for use with the new Sentinel.
