In an array of product announcements, Informix Software Inc said that a new Wingz-DataLink interface based on its Wingz spreadsheet would enable non-SQL literate users to create queries to its databases from any machine supported by Wingz currently Apple Computer Inc’s Macintosh, and shortly NeXT Inc’s NeXT Computer System and other Unix machines, notably Sun Microsystems workstations under Open Look, others using the OSF/Motif interface, for OS/2 under Presentation Manager and MS-DOS under Windows. It also agreed to marketing of the Wingz spreadsheet with Santa Cruz Operation’s Open Desktop user interface for Unix. The company also said that it would do an implementation of its Informix-OnLine multimedia database server for OS/2.
