Lotus Development Corp, Cambridge, Massachusetts is now shipping release 2.0 of its Lotus Manuscript word and document processor that was originally touted as being for use in technical offices but has also found favour in general business and professional applications: Lotus says that the 2.0 release merges text, graphics, worksheets, and tables into high-quality page layouts, offering full-featured word processing and the ability to produce high-quality pages from a single package; other features include the dynamic linking of spreadsheet data to Manuscript documents; a 220,000-synonym thesaurus from Microlytics Inc; keyboard macros to automate repetitive operations; and expanded support for graphic file formats and printers; the new release costs $495, and those who bought release 1.0 before last December 1 can have the upgrade for $75, those who bought after that date can have the new release free.
