We’re fascinated that Interleaf Inc, Cambridge, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $1.4m subcontract from Boeing Computer Services, Seattle, for electronic publishing software for NASA’s Space Station Programme, and wondered whatever they could want it for? The answer is of course obvious – those guys (and gals, one hopes) up in the Space Station for 90 days at a time are going to tend to get mighty bored, and what better therapy could there be for hand and brain in a confined space than to have the intrepid crew while away the unforgiving hours putting together brilliantly creative designs and reports using a Captain’s Table or command module publishing system?
